God preserved the population of Israel and placed them in Canaan. He did this to send the Savior from that particular people of promise and that particular land of promise.

Underneath the thin veneer of obedience was a heart of rebellion. But while israel miserably failed in the wilderness, our Savior triumphed.

Israel demonstrated a period of unsual obedience at the foot of Sinai, but this period would soon be followed by outright rebellion. God gave them the Nazirite vow to signify what He wanted from them. Only one man would live up to God’s desire for dedication unto Him, Jesus. He is the true Israel and the true Nazirite.
