Joshua, the new leader of Israel, followed God’s instructions of crossing the Jordan river and into the land of Canaan. The first city he sees is the city of Jericho. So, he sends out 2 spies to check out the land. The spies hide in the house of Rahab. Rahab is a lady who goes against her people and against the King of Jericho (who knows the spies are there and wants to get them). Instead, Rahab choses God and His people of Israel. By her actions, Rahab protects and hides the spies and even directs them to safety. By her words, Rahab shows her belief in God. And a promise is made to Rahab that she and her family will be spared and saved when Joshua leads Israel and attacks Jericho.
