When his fellow workers became jealous of Daniel for being raised to a higher rank, they convinced the king to make a law not allowing any person to pray to anyone or anything except to the king. Because Daniel did not obey the king’s law, he was thrown into the lions’ den. But God protected Daniel from the lions, saving His servant and showing His power to King Darius.
