Jesus is our rightful shepherd. With the metaphor of shepherding, Jesus shows that He is the authorized leader for the people of God. This is seen in the fact that Jesus is the God-appointed priest, prophet and king revealed in Scripture. Jesus is our supreme leader, and our purpose in life is to listen to Him and to follow after Him.
